For Immediate Release Mesa, Arizona – April 2003 – Paragon Vision Sciences conducted its second successful ghost caller promotion for Paragon CRT in March 2003. The practices of over 100 certified Paragon CRT practitioners were called by Paragon representatives and secretly quizzed about Paragon CRT and Corneal Refractive Therapy – overnight contact lens corneal reshaping. The promotion was the second of its kind completed by Paragon. The first was in the fall of 2002. During both promotions, Paragon representatives called the offices of certified practitioners and inquired about the procedure. The “Mystery Caller March” promotion focused on the benefits of Paragon CRT for adolescent patients. Knowledgeable and confident staff members comprised the majority of successful calls. These staff members received a variety of gifts from travel coffee mugs to denim Paragon CRT shirts. Staff members who themselves are successful Paragon CRT patients answered the calls with the most confidence and shared their success with the caller. Tips on educating other staff members and addressing patient inquires were distributed following the end of the promotion. As the number of certified Paragon CRT practitioners grows, Paragon will continue to sponsor promotions designed to motivate practitioners and their staff. In February and March, new in-office educational tools focusing on adolescents were distributed to over 1,000 certified Paragon CRT practitioners, continuing to bolster the excitement surrounding Paragon CRT. Paragon CRT is the first and only product FDA approved for overnight contact lens corneal reshaping and is primarily manufactured with Paragon HDS 100®, an HDS Technology® material. Paragon CRT is the ideal vision correction option for consumers that desire freedom from the hassles of contact lenses and spectacles during their waking hours, but prefer a non-surgical vision correction alternative. Paragon CRT provides 24-hour vision (the patient can see with the lenses on or off) without the inconvenience of daytime contact lenses and, importantly, allows the eye unencumbered access to oxygen throughout waking hours. Corneal Refractive Therapy with Paragon CRT provides an opportunity for practitioners not involved with refractive surgery to compete in the corneal reshaping market with a non-surgical and reversible option. For practices involved in refractive surgery, Paragon CRT is an ideal complement as it offers an opportunity to appeal to patients who are averse to surgery while providing a “test drive” of the visual freedom that surgery provides. This experience may lead patients to elect surgery in the future. Paragon, in conjunction with their authorized Paragon CRT laboratory partners, officially launched Paragon CRT across the United States in August 2002. In 2003, Paragon CRT will become widely available in Canada and eventually worldwide.
