Doctors Testimonials. “Patients often ask whether the lenses will be comfortable, and I explain to them that Paragon CRT lenses are larger than standard gas permeable lenses and so there is no lid strike when they blink. Since they’ll be sleeping during most of their wear, there will be virtually no sensation at all. Because I too wear overnight lenses for corneal shaping, I can tell patients that in fact, they are very comfortable. Any discomfort vanishes after the first few days." J. Blake Thornhill, OD
“The wonderful thing about Paragon CRT is that it is reversible-doctors and patients don’t have to worry about making an irreversible decision. Of course, the flip side is that, because it is reversible, CRT doesn’t completely eliminate the hassle of vision correction. For a comprehensive practice that offers all forms of vision correction, that may not really be a downside. If at some point a patient decides that he or she loves the effect of CRT but would like to avoid the nightly routine, we can offer the patient LASIK.” Richard Carlin, MD, PC
“Although there is some pressure to lower the age limit for LASIK, I am very conservative about that. On the other hand, I think CRT may actually have some advantages for teenagers, over and above its reversibility and the refractive change it offers. For one thing, the Paragon CRT corneal reshaping appliances are put at home and worn when the patients are sleeping. The patients don’t have to do anything with them during the day, which is a benefit, given the lack of fastidiousness of most teenagers. In addition, high-Dk gas permeable lenses tend to be very safe and relatively easy to care for, two very important points when offering lenses to teenagers". Penny A. Asbell, MD, MBA |
